The Montreal Impact called on Gazon Bastien to produce the turf used for a friendly match with renowned Italian soccer Club AC Milan on June 2, 2010 at the Olympic Stadium. The talented players—which included the renowned Ronaldinho—played on Gazon Bastien turf! This was the first time that natural turf was used at the Olympic Stadium. For this event, Gazon Bastien cultivated Trafik + 750 grass on 60/40 sport elite-type sod.

Radio-Canada approached Gazon Bastien after it was chosen to produce the turf for the friendly match between AC Milan and the Montreal Impact. The program focused on the production of Gazon Bastien’s various products as well as the logistics required for this historic match. This was the second time that Gazon Bastien was featured on the show. The company had previously taken part in a 1980 program in which founder Adrien Bastien spoke about the company’s growth.

Gazon Bastien installed turf on downtown Montreal’s Ste-Catherine Street for the In Town Without my Car environmental awareness event. The installation team managed to lay down 16,200 square feet of turf in less than an hour. This was the second year in a row that Gazon Bastien took part in the event.
